With reference to previous correspondence and to the proceedings relative to your case in Executive Council yesterday, I am directed to convey to you the following decisions of His Excellency the Governor in Council.
1. That after careful investigation of your case and due consideration of your oral defence before the Council, you have failed to exculpate yourself from the charges preferred against you to the satisfaction of His Excellency the Governor in Council.
2. That you accordingly send in at once your resignation of your appointment in the Public service of this Colony but that in consideration of your long service under this Government you should be allowed a reduced pension. This point will be referred to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, when the facts in connection with your case are reported in the usual course.
I am accordingly to instruct you to tender your resignation immediately upon the receipt of this letter and until the Secretary of State's decision is received you will be granted a sustentation allowance.
